Safeguarding

Our most important job is keeping your children safe in school and helping you to keep them safe at home.

We have a very skilled staff team who take our safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously. We train regularly as a whole staff team, in small groups, through Educare online training modules through weekly fact sheets and through spot check safeguarding questions for staff.

We have 4 staff who are trained to a DSL level.

Ms Kempster (DSL)

Ms Barnes (Deputy DSL)

Mrs. Roughley (Safeguarding officer)

Mrs Griffin (Safeguarding officer)

Ms. Hampson (Safeguarding officer)

Staff training

All of our staff undertake whole school training every September and we use Educare online resources to supplement this training. Staff complete all Educare training modules across  each academic year. This make sure that we are completely up to date with our knowledge. These units are staggered across the year so as to ensure staff wellbeing. We also train staff every week on a different element of safeguarding. We then do a quiz the week after to make sure that staff have understood.

Governors receive these training sheets too.

Units include :

Adverse Childhood experiences

Neglect

Female Genital mutilation

Child exploitation

Equality and Diversity

Dealing with bereavement and loss

First Aid Essentials

Supporting staff wellbeing in school

Safeguarding concerns
